A few of the boys from Boy Scout Troop 137 out of Franklin, TN paid a visit to some friends at Donelson Place. The boys and residents shared some great laughs over an epic Corn Hole tournament!

The residents loved watching the kids and cheering them on. The residents would break out into fits of laughter with the boys and their victory dances. What a fun night!

Gods Chicks came to visit the residents at Donelson Place. They were wonderful and the residents fully engaged in the event.

The residents enjoyed their visit and the opportunity to celebrate God together.

Signature HealthCARE kicked off its Stay-cation season with a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville, TN.

A total of 58 residents and staff from Signature Healthcare of Cleveland, Signature Healthcare of Columbia, Signature Healthcare of Larkin Springs, and Donelson Place Care and Rehab came together to tour the museum.

They took a stroll down memory lane and learned fun facts about some of the great Country Music Stars (new and old), checked out the wonderful exhibits, and even took a turn in the recording booth!

Many of the residents reminisced about seeing the stars on stage, meeting some of the greats in person, and their own personal stories of being in music groups.

The day didn’t end after the Hall of Fame. The crew headed over Monell’s at the Manor for lunch and more of that wonderful southern hospitality. Monell’s is a plantation style home that was turned into a restaurant that serves their meals family style.

Everyone had their fair share of food and then some! The residents had a great time, and it was wonderful to see everyone come together!

The residents at Donelson Place joined other Signature facilities at the Country Music Hall of Fame for our stay-cation.

Afterwards, we ate at Monell’s and it was delicious !

The beautiful ladies at Donelson Place went to “Charming Charlie” to get their jewelry fix. We ended our fun day with a quick trip to McDonalds for ice cream and drinks.

Here are some pictures of our Donelson Divas having a ball!

More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.

And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.

Signature’s Urban Segment has been highlighting different cultures since September 2014 in the Quality of Life department. Every month a country is celebrated with weekly activities representing that specific country. Staff and residents learn about the culture which includes, crafts, food, language, famous landmarks, and learning about the customs and traditions.

China was highlighted during the month of February. Urban Indiana, Urban North, and Urban South celebrated the Chinese New Year on February 19, 2015. Each community in Urban created their own version of the Chinese dragon for their celebration. The top two dragons in each sub-segment were the winners!  The residents are still talking about the celebrations held at their communities.
